Johnny Depp Bio

John Christopher Depp II, professionally known as Johnny Depp, is an American actor, producer, and musician who is well known for his wonderous character of Captain Jack Sparrow in the various series of “The Pirates of the Caribbean.” He began his career with a debut in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), before gaining popularity as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and also for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other well-known ones. He has been part of many versatile films like,  What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Benny and Joon (1993), Dead Man (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (1994) and Sleepy Hollow (1999)  Finding Neverland (2004), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). In November 2020, Depp received an award for his career at the Polish Camerimage film festival, which was both released in Minamata and City of Lies in early 2021. By March 2021, an online petition was filed to bring Depp back to the Pirates franchise, which had begun four months earlier, and had reached its goal of 500,000 signatures.
