Kathleen (Katie) Ledecky Bio

Kathleen Genevieve Ledecky known as Katie Ledecky is an American competitive swimmer, who has represented the USA at various events. She is best known for winning five Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship gold medals (the world champion for nine times), the most in history for a female swimmer. She dominates freestyle swimming like a queen and is the world record holder in the women’s 400-, 800-, and 1500-meter freestyle events.

Katie won her first gold medal only when she was 15 years old and recorded the second-highest time for the 800 m event. She has been also titled as the “World Swimmer of the Year” and American Swimmer of the Year for three consecutive years from 2013, 2014 and 2015. She was also awarded the “FINA Swimmer of the Year” in 2013. L’Équipe titled her the international Champion of Champions in 2014. Also, she was the youngest person to be on the Time 100 list of Time magazine.

Katie began at the TYR Pro Swim Series 2021 at San Antonio, Texas, and she won the 200-, 400-, 800- and 1500-meter freestyle races.
