Kaylee Rochelle McKeown is an Australian swimmer and triple Olympic gold medallist, winning both the 100 meter and 200 meter backstroke, as well as the 4×100 meter medley events at the 2020 summer games staged in Tokyo in 2021. She is the current world record holder of the women’s 100-metre backstroke.

She won her first major international medal at the 2019 World Championships claiming silver in the 200m backstroke. In 2021, Kaylee has been smashing records, setting three national records in the span of one weekend, in the 200m, 100m and 50m backstroke at the Sydney Open.

As well as being blessed with athletic talent Kaylee suffer from asthma. She was diagnosed with the breathing condition at a young age, but through education and a well-managed medication program, it has amazingly never hindered their athletic ability. Her father, Sholto, died in August 2020 at the age of 53 after a two-year battle with brain cancer. He was instrumental in his daughters’ career, teaching them the importance of seizing their opportunities.
